Dear visitor,
Julian, 48, has been in the transaction and consultancy business for over fifteen years. He was a senior partner, general manager and shareholder of various consultancy businesses. In the aftermath of the internet bubble burst he became CEO of a software company in Frankfurt, Germany, which he led from insolvency back to profit. He then sold the company to a strategic investor. Since then he has focused exclusively on transaction advisory and corporate finance. His personal expertise include target scouting, commercial due diligences, transaction advisory, post-merger and post-takeover reengineering, and of course the “Mittelstand”- industry as such.
Julian was born in Rome and grew up in a diplomat’s family in Thessaloniki/Greece, Santiago de Chile and Bonn/Germany. His grand uncle Ulrich von Hassell, German ambassador to Italy between 1932 and 1938, belonged to the German resistance against the Nazi regime. He tried to broker a post-Hitler peace deal first with Neville Chamberlain and later with Anthony Eden, but was hanged in the aftermath of Count Stauffenberg’s attempt to get rid of Hitler on July 20th, 1944.
Julian read History, Philosophy and Logic at Munich University and holds an MPhil degree in History and Philosophy of Science (HPS) from Cambridge University (Hughes Hall). He is the author of several books and contributes regularly to newspapers and other publications.
